FROM THE PRESIDENT – ALAN CRANE CBE
I am aware that there may be concerns about the standards which the CIOB uses for assessing candidates for membership. In a process that commenced in 2010, the Board of Trustees, following advice of the Education, Qualifications, Standards and Practice Board and following consultation and acceptance by the Members Forum has determined that to protect standards it is necessary to make changes to the professional review.
Courtesy visit to YB Dato’ Seri Kong Cho Ha, Minister of Housing and Local Government was held at the Minister’s Office. The visit was attended by our Immediate Past President, YBhg Dato’ Michael Yam, our President, Mr. Yeow Yoon Foo, Deputy President, Mr. Ong Bok Siong and Regional Administrator, Ms Audrey Chen.
If you are a coporate member and if you have not already done so, then you have 24 hours left to vote for the new CIOB Board of Trustees.
The CIOB has published a biographical history of some of the construction industry's greatest leaders, from the beginnings of the Institute to the modern day.
To combat delays and bad workmanship, the government of Malaysia wants members of the public to inform on contractors who appear to take a negligent or corrupt approach to major public projects.
